I had always been a “gloss girl.” Literally up until my LA bestie Taylor intrduced me to the most magical lipstick of all time – Lancome’s limited edition Proenza Pink – nearly six years ago, you wouldn’t catch me dead wearing an-y-thing but lipgloss. Since coming to the immediate realization that lipstick is in fact quite amazing…it practically look over my lip routine, and has since replaced the gloss…until now.

What better time than the present – with summer in full effect – to update your lip-look with some chic high-impact colors? These are my top three:

Givenchy’s Gelée D’Interdit Smoothing Gloss Balm Crystal Shine in Electric Purple is insanity. Its a sheer purple with opalescent micro glitter. This would totally compliment a clean glowy complexion. The color is actually quite sheer with just the right amount of tint and shine. It photographs beautifully too! Dior Addict Gloss in Princess – a new shade for summer – is a pretty-in-pink carnation color with the faintest hint of sparkle. I think anything super glittery is kinda scary, but trust me, these sparkles are just right and add dimension and volume. This color also looks amazing on all skin tones. Lastly, Joeur’s Birchbox Pink Lip Gloss is a shockingly hot color and more pigmented than the Givenchy or Dior. I like to wear this gloss alone for a bolder look OR I layer it under a lighter gloss, like the Dior. Sometimes a little mix gets it just right.
