Since my hair trauma incident a few years ago I have been paying very close attention to the products I use on my hair. I always read the ingredients on the back of the label and bring my own products whenever I travel. The kind of shampoo and conditioner I put on my locks really makes a difference when it comes to my hair’s overall health. Shampoo and conditioner aside, I also have to be choosy when it comes to the styling products I use.

There a million choices out there when it comes to styling products, which often makes it difficult to find the right ones. To solve this problem, I’ve rounded up all of my favorites that have helped me perfect my sun and salt touched hair every summer over the years. These products have completely revived my hair safely and I’m sure they’ll do the same for yours too.

Kérastase Initialiste – If you want to re-grow your hair, this is the product you need. This miracle product can actually make a difference in 7 days and is a must-have for all hair types! Like a serum for your skin, this product does it all, improving the strength, shine, softness and substance of your hair. Your hair actually grows faster and breaks less with this product – how cool is that?! Plus, the application couldn’t be easier.

Alterna Caviar CC Cream – This CC Cream perfects your hair in 10 different ways. I used it for the first time at John Barrett salon and love how it has made my hair look and feel ever since. It provides moisture, shine, smoothness, softness, anti-breakage, heat protection, light hold, UV Protection, manageability, and strength—everything your hair needs to look absolutely beautiful, healthy, and flawless. What I also love is that it gives your hair that “second day” look.

Bumble and bumble Semisumo – There are only 6 ingredients in this lovely smelling pomade and it gives just the right amount of hold. It’s the perfect post-blow out treatment, because it tames all those annoying flyaways and out of control hairs that pop up from the heat. Application is super simple, and allows those with both long and short hair to tame, define, detail, and add shine.

Bumble and bumble Thickening Spray – I have a full-on addiction to this product and have been using it for years. It’s more of a setting spray that gives you moderate hold. Spray it liberally all over damp hair before blow-drying to protect your hair from heat, adding volume and shine. It’s simply the BEST.

Kerastase Keratin Thermique – This is the ultimate heat-protecting primer for those living in humid climates. It keeps your hair under control in sticky weather – like when I went to Antigua over New Years – by smoothing frizz and flyways and bringing back that flexible baby hair-like softness. I like to apply it right after my Bumble and bumble Thickening Spray, and will use it in place of the Alterna Caviar CC Cream.

Davines Melu Shield – Oh baby I love this small(ish) brand run by family-owned business based in Italy. This pretty blue spray protects hair from excessive heat and styling. It’s really geared towards those with long or even slightly damaged hair, with a tendency to break. It’s made with Rosemary extract so the smell is to die for.
