What do Kate Bosworth, Cate Blanchett and little old me all have in common? It’s our love for SK-II’s Facial Treatment Essence. I have known about this “miracle” product for a while now, but it’s not until recently that I actually figured out how to use it properly. It’s water based, so when I first poured it into my hands, it just slipped through my fingers and left me with watery hands and no product left for my face. I was so confused. I finally stopped by the SK-II counter the other day, and asked one of the girls, “How the hell do you use this?!”After a quick and easy tutorial, I learned how to really use the Essence, and now I’ve added it to my daily routine. It was so worth the wait.
So you don’t have to make the same mistakes I did, I’ve outlined the right way to use the product so you can also experience how truly amazing it is.
Basically you pour a little bit into the palm of your flat hand. Then, using the fingers of your opposite hand, work the product in circular motions, spreading evenly over the whole hand, and eventually onto both palms of hands. Then pat all over face and neck.
According to Cate Blanchett,“I decant this into a spray bottle, and I have it with me all the time…I [take it] on the plane, I put it on in the car – whatever the season is.” This is actually a great idea.
The Facial Treatment Essence is super rich in Pitera (over 90%!), which helps stimulate the natural renewal process of the skin’s outer layer to rebalance and bring harmony to your skin. Women are so passionate about it that they even describe it as their ‘holy water.’ I use it on clean skin after washing my face, and before serum. If I use a toner, I would use this after the toner. I was describing it to my friend this weekend, and it’s kind of like the Japanese version of P50 – another life-changing beauty buy, which makes it that much better.
