I’m so thrilled to introduce my latest Glow Girl, Lindsi Lane. Lindsi is the creator and Editor in Chief of LindsiInTheFastLane.com, a unique and interactive lifestyle magazine for girls just like us who are constantly on the go and dealing with mile-long to-do lists. From categories like style to dating, health, and fashion, be prepared to learn how to take control of your own busy life. Lindsi perfectly sums it up: “Being a girl in the fast lane is a lifestyle. Why not have it at your manicured fingertips?

Before launching her eponymous site, Lindsi landed ultra coveted jobs at Gucci, Michael Kors and ELLE Magazine and even landed a position at Barneys New York, making her the youngest Personal Shopper in their working history. Boom. She was also the first By Appointment Stylist signed by FORD Artists in NYC. Damn girl! Since then she has been featured on numerous television platforms – I’m talking E! News! – and knows a thing or two about looking great in front of the camera.

A self-confessed beauty junkie with over ten years in the fashion biz, she’s got to know some swoon worthy tricks. I took a tour of Lindsi’s beyond chic Gramercy Park apartment to peer into her ridiculous lipstick and perfume collections and to find out her secrets, obsessions, must haves, and camera-ready makeup tips. Because why not learn to beautify to get your best #selfie?

Annie: You are constantly in front of the camera, whether it’s for an Instagram pic, a video or a TV appearance. What are your tips and tricks for looking your best?

Lindsi: Oh boy! I have tons of different makeup for every situation. When I do the shoots for my site and Instagram, I wear minimal makeup. I want people to see who I really am without a cake face of makeup on.  If in front of the camera, I’ll spray a little Dior Airflash Spray Foundation on a brush and sweep it over my face for full coverage or Giorgio Armani Maestro Foundation for a lighter, more airy concealed finish. I love to laugh at myself, smile, and have fun with anything I do or film.

AA: The selfie. Tell me how it’s done?

LL: I would say lighting is everything. Make sure you are in natural light! That way you can reverse the camera and the finish will look smooth, not grainy. With the reversed camera, you can play with positioning your head certain ways and try out different angles.

AA: Let’s pretend you’re stranded on a desert island. What are the five products you couldn’t live without?

LL: Oooo that’s a toughy! I would have to say Caudalie Beauty Elixir, YSL Babydoll Mascara, Becca Illuminating Skin Perfector in Moonstone [dying to try this!], Tarte Bronzer in Park Avenue Princess, and Donna Karan Cashmere Mist Deodorant! I know you might be laughing, but DK makes a killer deodorant.

AA: What’s your favorite facemask? Hairmask? Cream?

LL: I am a skin junkie. I think I have been to every dermatologist in Manhattan and tried every product out there. I am loving the Ren Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask. It smells like a meadow filled with daisies and when you rinse it off, your skin is completely rejuvenated and brightened. My favorite hair mask is Kerastase Reflection Chroma Reflect Masque. It doesn’t dry out my highlighted locks. Caudalie Premier Cru The Cream is outstanding. Every time I use it on my face there is a visual difference in a matter of seconds. You need all of these!

AA: What are your go-to nail polish colors for the spring and summer?

LL: I love a crisp, matte white in the summer. My favorite baby pink is Guchi Muchi Puchi by Essie and my all time favorite red is Big Apple Red by OPI.

AA: What’re your essential makeup products that you couldn’t live without. Describe your typical day and night makeup routines.

LL: During the day, I barely wear any makeup. I wear YSL Babydoll Mascara, sweep Becca Illuminating Skin Perfector in Moonstone on my cheekbones, put MAC Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle in the corner of my eyes, and I have about 10 glosses in my bag at all times that I interchange on a weekly basis. At night, I am a smokey eye gal—the darker and sexier, the better!

AA: What are your tips for not looking tired?

LL: Dabbing illuminator on the bridge of your nose and cheeks makes you look well rested and enlivened. My killer trio is mascara, illuminator, and Giorgio Armani Maestro Concealer.

AA: Well this perfectly leads me to my next questions! What do you believe the secret is to glowy, luminous skin?

LL: For one, I love illuminator! Adding illuminator onto cheekbones and the bridge of your nose creates an amazing sheen. I believe in going to the dermatologist or a facialist every month for a facial or some sort of skin treatment. With the weather, your skin changes everyday and it’s helpful to switch up your regimen based on season. Your face is the first thing people see. I think treatments and amazing products are the best investments you can make.

AA: Do you have any DIY beauty treatment that you swear by that actually works?

LL: Since summer is around the corner, I am thinking of the sun. Taking thick Greek yogurt (like Fage) and rubbing it over a sunburn takes the pain and redness away. It cools the skin and restores your pH balance. And you don’t even have to make a DIY, just go to your local supermarket!

AA: What would you say is your #1 beauty secret?

LL: That Visine takes the red out of a blemish! It’s like a little miracle in a plastic bottle.

AA: What are your all time favorite lip colors and perfumes?

LL: I love Acca Kappa. It’s a male fragrance, but I wear it everyday! I also live for Escada Collection. I have been wearing it since high school and since they discontinued it years ago, I have to find it on eBay! I am lip gloss/lipstick, anything “lip” junkie! I love every single color and all the lip products from Bite Beauty. I also love the YSL lip gloss stains. They last forever on your lips and actually moisturize your pout, unlike a lot of stains on the market today.

AA: Where’s the coolest place you have gotten a massage?

LL: I got a luxurious massage in the bush in South Africa. Can check that one off the bucket list!
