Stumped on what to wear for Halloween? Well, I have discovered the easiest and chicest costume yet. This year, I am all about a Day of the Dead inspired look. It’s quite simple. First, pick your favorite LBD (little black dress, of course) and depending on your tan (I am pale as a ghost) opt for tights or no tights. Second, let your makeup stand out as your best accessory.

Apply your facial makeup as usual. I focused on super clean, glowy skin with a thick black liquid eyeliner on my upper lid. I primed my face with Laura Mercier Foundation Primer Radiance and used Hourglass Liquid Powder Foundation, blending of course by spraying on my Mac Fix. I used RMS Living Luminizer to highlight and RMS’ newly launched Buriti Bronzer for contouring. On my eyes I used Kevyn Aucoin’s Precision Liquid Liner in black.

Next, using a sharp black eyeliner (like Eyeko + Alexa Chung Eye Do Liquid Liner), draw 13 tiny circles around the eye. I drew six circles above the eye and six circles below, and one on the inside brim of my nose. Then depending on the spacing and shape, mirror the circles on the opposite eye. Next, taking a lipstick brush, choose your brightest red, (I choose Nars Jungle Red) and dip the brush into the lipstick and dot the red color in between each black circle. Remember to bring Q-tips out with you in case of smearing.

Add a floral crown or headband, like mine from Etsy. I also added the super glitzy and chic temporary tattoos from Flash. These particular tattoos are so amazing because they are inspired by jewelry. I like to layer them on my wrists to replicate teeny tiny little bracelets, and they look even more amazing when paired with your own delicate pieces.

It’s as simple as that! You’ll be the chicest girl in the room.
