Mojave Ghost: A Fragrance for Cool Girls

Byredo – the ultra cool Stockholm based fragrance line – has launched a new scent for fall, Mojave Ghost. The brand that earned a cult status reputation and loyal following from girls like Kate Bosworth just keeps getting better and better. You already know, I am obsessed with this line. There are a number of beautiful scents from Byredo, but my favorites are Gypsy Water, a beautiful mixture of sweet amber and vanilla mixed with a little lemon, Bal D’Afrique, made from jasmine, marigold and musk, and La Tulipe, a blend of freesia and tulip. Even the bottles themselves are works of art. Designed with the help of a friend who previously worked for Acne (aka the cool kids on the block in fashion), the bottle features a simple black and white logo with typography that recalls classic brands like Chanel No. 5 and Acqua di Parma. They are like the Diptyque of Fragrance – chic and iconic.

Mojave Ghost is like the ultimate of cool scents. The smell is beyond intoxicating and totally addictive. It’s grounded yet ethereal. And, let’s be honest, just because a brand that you might love launches something new doesn’t mean you will fall head over heels in love. But this time, I did.

The ghost flower is a rare species found in the Mojave Desert, land that stretches across California and parts of the Western US. It’s strong enough to blossom and survive in the desert’s baked, hard ground. Despite its arid surroundings and inability to produce nectar, the ghost flower maintains its perfect, majestic beauty and thrives year after year. Hints of violet, sandalwood, magnolia and crisp amber make this scent my new fall favorite.
