Who doesn’t love strolling though the aisles of Whole Foods, picking up kitchen cabinet front-runners like bee pollen and coconut flakes, medicinal teas, quinoa or the bounty of brightly colored fruit and vegetables? (I know, my shopping list is a bit eccentric.) Regardless of what gets you excited, you can’t deny that Whole Foods is a place that you can easily carried away. Their beauty section is equally impressive. Just like their high food and produce standards, the store also sets it own standards for organic labeling and product selection in the beauty department. So basically, you can really trust the brands they carry. But with so many products to choose from, it’s hard to decide what to buy.
In my constant efforts to steer towards a greener and more sustainable lifestyle, I try to use organic beauty whenever possible. ‘Whenever possible’ being the key term here, because honestly, am I giving up my Dior Show mascara or my Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil? No no no. That would be ridiculous. BUT when it comes to skincare and the products that I use on my skin (hello, the largest organ of the body) every day, twice a day, I like to keep things clean and green.
I popped into Whole Foods over the weekend and stocked up on a few bathroom staples and makeup bag essentials. It was hard to limit myself, but I made it out of the store with 6 of my favorites. You can also buy these on AMAZON!
This is what I purchased:
Heritage Store Rose Petals Rosewater – This old school aromatherapy mist/ body splash is a makeup artist staple that I see time and time again backstage at FW. The scent is super light and pretty, and you can use it as a mid-day facial refresher over day-old makeup or after cleansing and before moisturizer and serums. It smells like HEAVEN and the reasonable price is so nice.
Dr. Hauschka Deodorant – I love this chemical free deodorant, because unlike most of the other all natural under arm products, this one actually works. Even my boyfriend uses it.
Weleda Pomegranate Regenerating Hand Cream – It’s an undeniable fact that our hands take a beating in these never ending winter months, so a hand cream is a must. With its pretty and poppy packaging, it’s hard not to love this delightful hand cream. Weleda is one of my favorite German brands for its rich as ever creams for the face and body. The smell is amazing, and it’s super concentrated so a little goes a long way.
Indian Healing Clay – The tub that this baby comes in is straight up huge and heavy, so you know it will last you forever! What is it for, you ask? Simply mix a little water or apple cider vinegar with this clay powder, and you have got yourself an acne busting mask that’s perfect for any time of the year, and especially pre-party. Remember to follow up with a hydrating serum and moisturizer.
Love + toast Honey Coconut Hand Creme – I couldn’t help but feature two hand creams here, because I am addicted and I seem to have one everywhere I turn. This one is all natural, made with shea butter, olive fruits, avocado and sunflower oils to create a dream cream. The honey coconut smell is soooo good too.
Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel – Exfoliate that dead winter skin with this super potent alpha and beta hydroxy acid peel that delivers spa grade exfoliation. After just one use, your complexion is firmer and brighter. This peel reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and hyperpigmentation. It’s designed for all skin types (except sensitive skin), 20’s and up and helps uneven skin tone and texture. BOOM!
