Working out is my therapy. I love the way I feel after I finish a class, although getting there isn’t always so easy. The key me is to sign up for classes in advance, because this ensures I won’t ditch out.

I always get asked about which fitness classes are my favorites. Well, I’ve tried everything from boxing to bootcamp, aerial yoga to ballet, but I tend to gravitate towards barre and yoga-type classes. I think at this point in my life I am looking for more of a “zen” experience. I’m also not interested in bulking up. I want long and lean muscles, but at the same time, I want to burn calories. This is why a good cardio class is necessary every once in a while. You can read all about my latest workout schedule here.

To give you all a little taste of my fitness routine, I’ve pulled together a list of my favorite workouts in the city. I like to follow instructors rather than classes. This is why my list includes the instructor. They can really make or break the entire vibe. See my faves below.

Barre3: A mix of ballet, yoga, light weights and Pilates. Favorite instructors: CJ, Dino, Julienne, Malin Barr and Skyler Stetten.

Physique 57: Super fast paced and a good mix of ballet, yoga, Pilates and weights. Favorite instructor: Shoba.

Strala Yoga: Non-judgmental yoga that leaves you feeling super stretched. Favorite instructor: Founder Tara Stiles.

Yoga Vida: Just good solid yoga. No frills. Favorite instructor: Hilaria Baldwin.

SLT: Pilates on steroids. Favorite instructors: Bethany Meyers and Amanda Rey.

Sky Ting Yoga: Yoga for cool girls located in one of the chicest spaces in the heart of Chinatown. Favorite instructors: Founders Krissy Jones and Chloe Kernaghan. Read my interview with these two powerhouses here.

The Class by TT: A 75 minute cathartic experience, where you might spot a celeb or two. Favorite instructor: Founder Taryn Toomey.

Barry’s Bootcamp: Running and weight training intervals where you sweat and push yourself more than ever. Favorite instructor: Noah Neiman.

Y7 Yoga: Yoga to rap and hip hop music. Basically the best thing ever.

Ballet Beautiful: Follow the graceful guidance of BB founderMary Helen through repetitive movement, stretching and core work. Favorite instructor: Mary Helen aka Ballet Beautiful.
