Your eyes. How important are they to you? Because to me…….they are EVERYTHING! I am so obsessed with protecting them and discovering ways to literally STOP the aging process right in its tracks. (I need the emoji for the gun right now).

In researching this extremely important eye story, I knew I needed some expert advice on the best ways to care for our eyes, so of course I turned to my very own personal skincare GURU Dangene Enterprise of The Institute of Skincare. This is what she had to say:

Q: DOES A MOISTURIZER/SERUM NEED TO BE USED AROUND THE EYES TO HELP PREVENT AGING?

A: Starting to use an eye cream before you actually get wrinkles is the best way to prevent aging – so if you haven’t started using anything yet, you should!

Q: FOR THOSE WHO HAVE BAGS UNDER THEIR EYES, IS THERE ANOTHER WAY TO GET RID OF THOSE WITHOUT HAVING TO HAVE SURGERY?

A: Darn! This is a really tough one, but you can watch your salt intake, get sleep, use products that reduce swelling, and try lymphatic drainage.

Q: STRESS, SMOKING AND DIET ARE A COUPLE KEY INGREDIENTS FOR CREATING WRINKLES AND AGING FASTER… IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE MAJOR TO ADD TO THAT LIST

A: Drugs, alcohol, unhappiness, too much sun exposure, lack of sleep and illness.

Q: DO ANTI-AGING [EYE] CREAMS REALLY WORK?

A: Yes! But the products must contain active ingredients and be used consistently.

Q: DO ANTI-AGING PRODUCTS/TREATMENTS ONLY TEMPORARILY FIX FINE LINES AND WRINKLES?

A: If the products are used consistently they will continue to keep your skin smoother than if you weren’t using any treatments.

So I am a major eye cream user. I learned about this years ago from Dangene of course. I like to really lather it on, morning and night. You need to get involved in this vital step if you haven’t done so already. Based on what I have learned from Dangene and through countless trials and my own research, these are my TOP creams, serums, masks and treatments for saving your pretty little eyes:

La Mer The Eye Concentrate – Le Mer. Enough said. This is what I am using, and I love it! It’s literally the best.

Caudalie Premier Cru Eye Cream – I switch off between La Mer and Caudalie. “We packed this eye cream with hibiscus seeds to plump and firm, caffeine to eliminate dark circles and puffiness, and grape-seed oil, hydraluronic acid, and avocado butter to hydrate,” said Caudalie founder Mathilde Thomas.

Natura Bisse The Cure Eye Cream & Concealer – An ingenious anti-aging eye cream and concealer in one! Self-adapting to any skin tone, so it’s perfect for everyone! I use this in the mornings.

Amore Pacific Eye Cream – Recommended by the professional, Dangene, so you know its works.

Dangene 10-in 1 Serum – This does it all! Can be used in place of your traditional eye cream. The serum encourages cell renewal and restoration of radiance, helps produce new collagen and elastin, helps brighten the complexion and remove the appearance of age spots with regular use. Soothes irritation, calms the skin’s surface, reduces inflammations and strengthens skin over time.

Estee Lauder Cooling Eye Illuminator – Another treatment/ concealer due that helps to reduce the look of dark circles, puffiness, shadows and fine lines. Instantly, my eyes look brighter and refreshed. I like to carry this in my bag during the day for a mid-day touch up!

Sk-II Signs Eye Mask – Loved by just about every beauty professional in the know, including Eva Chen. It’s actually quite amazing. Get it. This saves me every time! I literally see fine lines disappear.

Oxygen Treatment – This is something you need to seek out from skincare professional. Oxygen infused with vitamins A, E, and C is applied directly to your face. The oxygen and vitamins will hydrate your skin, reduce the appearance of fine lines, and help heal any abrasions. I get oxygen at the very least, once a month.
