A few weeks ago, I was perusing Snapchat and I caught a 5-second mini review from one of my most trusted beauty sources. Jessica Richards, the know-it-all beauty maven, former Vogue stylist and current founder of Brooklyn’s Shen Beauty, posted about her love for one particular beauty item: SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2.
I couldn’t help but test out this product immediately. I called my friends over at SkinCeuticals and asked for a sample. In the meantime, they invited me in to get the “full experience” at one of their locations in the city. During the appointment, my lovely dermatologist explained why the product is just so good. This is what I learned:
It’s an anti-aging treatment meant to refill cellular lipids – or, in other words, plump the skin. Lipids comprise the skin’s natural protective barrier, so when lipids are lacking, so is the appearance of the skin. Think bad elasticity, bad texture, you name it. Yikes. This skin quenching power product also provides some major hydration, so it’s really good for those who suffer from super dry skin. But don’t be fooled, the texture is light, so it’s not going to make you breakout.
Later that week, the hefty jar arrived at my apartment, and I immediately started using it. One week later and I am hooked. My skin is looking bright, glowy and smooth. Based on the fact that this is a restorative product, it’s also going to be key after a facial or a laser treatment, when your skin is in the recovery process.
