The makeup at Rodarte’s Spring 2014 show was literally one of my favorites from #nyfw. It was sick. The inspiration evolved from the “real” LA girl and the city’s sleek and minimal lines. James Kaliardos, the lead artist for Nars Cosmetics, referenced Carré Otis, leather jackets, mini skirts and a boot. He mentioned t-shirts, more casual style, sea-salt and messy hair. Its rough. It’s rock and roll baby.

The most MAJ part of the look is the eye. He used Via Veneto Larger Than Life® Eyeliner and Black Valley Eye Paint to achieve the look, because “they would be more effective than a liquid liner when it came to smudging. Depending on your eye shape, different formulas are better than others. If your lids hang over your eye, an eye pencil is better, but if your eyes pop out more, a paint-on liner is more effective.” Interesting, right?! Liner was applied to the top and bottom, but only on one third of the lower part of the eye and it was pressed heavier on the outer corner in a “V” shape. White Rue Bonaparte Larger Than Life® Eyeliner was applied on the inner corner to create a unique contrast. Larger Than Life® Lengthening Mascara was used to complete the eye.

The brows were also amazing and brushed WAY up using Oural Brow Gel, which is totally 80’s. I am so into this.

The lips were colored with Biscayne Park Satin Lip Pencil and Floralies Satin Lip Pencil as opposed to traditional lipstick for the smudge factor.

Why wait until Spring to rock this look?
