Beauty at Prabal Gurung was all about “a twist on a modern mannequin look with a classic 1950’s lip shape in bold color,” says Charlotte Tilbury who created the amazing technicolor lips for the Spring 2014 show. The fact that there is no blush, contouring or mascara is what makes this look so modern. It’s all about clean, perfect skin, which of course I am loving. Mascara-less seems to be a major trend this Spring season, and I couldn’t be more excited. Did you see Derek Lam, Altuzarra and Rag & Bone?! NO MASCARA. A coffee eye pencil was used on the eye to create a “chocolate 50’s feline flick,” and clear brow gel was swept upwards through the brow to lightly define and shape.
Back to the lips…Charlotte used MAC Cosmetics to create these insanely gorgeous lips in three dazzling colors – pink, lavender and orange. Again with the orange!
Do you want to get the look? Here is how:
Lips look 1—Pink Shock Value Pro Longwear Lip Pencil was used to lightly define and contour lips. MAC Pro White and Crimson Lipmix was then blended over the entire lip to finish.
Lips look 2—Lavender Fashion Boost Pro Longwear Lip Pencil was used to lightly define and contour lips. MAC Pro Crimson, Burgundy, and White Lipmix was mixed together and blended over lips for a lavender hue to finish.
Lips look 3—Orange (what a blast!) Pro longwear Lip Pencil was used to define and contour lips. MAC Pro Orange Lipmix was blended over the entire lip to finish.
Move over mascara, these bold lips have come to steal the show.
