I just returned back to New York from a long weekend in California, the second time I traveled cross-country to the sunny Pacific coast in two weeks. Although I LOVE long weekends out of the city, and especially when I get to explore pretty places like San Francisco, Napa, the Redwood Forest, La Jolla and Rancho Santa Fe, that long-a** cross-country flight takes a horrible toll on my skin. Oh, and not to mention that both weekends were filled with major wine consumption, far too much cake and of course, not enough sleep. Let’s just say that my beauty routine feels a little off, and although my skin isn’t totally in panic mode, it could use a little love in the repair department.

On the flight back to New York this time around, I did something smart and brought along my trusty and super luxe By Terry Cellularose Nutri-Baume, part of the rose collection. This rich non-greasy balm is the color of rose petals and the scent of fresh roses. It calms damaged and inflamed skin with its calming properties to restore balance. It’s multi-purpose, and a little goes a long way, so it will really last forever. For added sensation, apply my favorite By Terry Baume de Rose (which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year). Super cute, right? Together, these two are my latest must-haves for long flights and late nights and are a must for skin and lips that are in dire need of hydration.

Once safely back in NYC and unpacking away at home sweet home, I applied a mask, because why not beautify while you reorganize your life. Right now, I’m loving the Valmont Renewing Pack (a fairly new favorite that I picked up while I was in Switzerland last month). This gentle yet effective mask burns (just ever so slightly) upon application so you know it’s hard at work. I have been known to leave this baby on for up to an hour. Apply a few times a week for 20 minutes, or every morning, and get ready to enjoy bright and lively skin.
