Orange Shadow was everywhere on the Fall 13′ runways. At J. Mendel, Prabal, Altuzarra and Givenchy this look is absolutely on trend for the summer and fall seasons. Now, I have never – ever – sported an orange eye in “real life,” but in the spirit of adventure, I thought “why not?” Well, actually…that’s not true…I was basically forced into it by my friend and #1 makeup authority, ArtWing hottie Sparrow.
Givenchy is of course my favorite, so I was convinced by the powers of Sparrow and Givenchy alike. These are Sparrow’s, quick and easy steps for achieving that oh so of-the-moment, burnt orangey glowy eye, sparkles and all, and the products he used for that runway effect.“GIVENCHY (yes, all caps just happened). Apply a generous amount of concealer (anything good enough to coverup the shame from the night before) to the entire lid. Set with a loose or pressed powder. Use the Vibrant Matte Orange (N0. 18) from Make Up Forever No. 18 from lash to crease, blending generously. Add a touch of MAC Glitter in Reflects Pearls on top for a shimmer and shine. [This is where I was like, wait what glitter? But, I promise it is super low-key non Studio 54 type glimmer – trust me]. Next add a row of MAC #7 Eyelashes. Press a tight line of Le Métier de Beaute Black Liquid Liner [this is Sparrow’s #1 fav liquid liner] into the lash line and you’re good to go. Unless you’re not, but at that point I’m not your therapist I can only do so much.”
Thanks Sparrow! Until next time. Be chic and at all times, think Givenchy.
