Who knew that Dolce & Gabbana would be k-k-killing it in the nail department. We all know that their highly successful beauty line is something out of an Italian dream, but lately it’s their bright and poppy, highly pigmented Intense Nail Lacquers that have caught my attention. The collection boasts a palette of sophisticated shades that will add the perfect pop of color to the hands. The formulation allows for the fullest and richest coverage. With fashion week only days away, I am getting everything organized in the beauty department, so of course that includes my nails. I pulled together my fave assortment that I’m going to keep on hand in the coming weeks.

Nothing is chicer than a pale glossy manicure, which is why I love Dolce & Gabbana Nude, because it’s literally the perfect color, and it will certainly go with everything. Iris, a deep violet – a color I declare as the new navy – will compliment my good ol’ Balenciaga leather jacket, and give me some real street cred. Ibisco, a darker pink with coral undertones, is a great carryover shade from summer to fall, because who said we have to give up our brights just yet?

I love to buy high quality base (Matte) and top coats (High Shine), not because I like to paint my own nails (I have other beauty talents – this not one of them!), but because I love to bring my own polishes to the salon. I find that that color stays much longer and the vibrant polish is kept tight and secure above and below the high-velocity shine.

Dolce & Gabbana resident makeup artist Pat McGrath says, “The resurgence of more intense nail colours provides the opportunity for experimentation. My favorite is to create a French manicure using two intense shades.” Loving this idea, Pat! I will try painting my nails with Iris and then using Gold just at the tips.
